When I close my eyes I can hear
the rain
I can see the tears running down
your face
I feel your hands: so cold, you
are in pain
I taste the bitter sweetness of
your fate
The broken words coming through
shaken breaths
The screaming that can be heard
like thunder
Is louder than the shock of
sudden death
For when you hurt my whole world
goes under
But don't worry tears don't last
forever
The pain goes away faster than
you think
So start over; set out on a new
endeavor
Rewrite your misfortunes with
better ink
And when the flood and thunder
return
Don't reject the warmth of a
nearby lantern.
